Maka Chop!

She nodded in response, wondering why the red head looked so cold.

She caught the apple with ease, smiling cockily (she was sure the girl wanted her to miss it); the tattoo had taken her powers but not her reflexes. “Thanks!”

Her eyebrows rose. “I… Sure, I guess. How would I get in your way though? There’s not much around here…” She paused and bit into the apple, savouring the taste. “Are there other fruit trees around?” She turned to face the sun, letting it wash over her face.

Even if the other girl had been rude, she felt quite nice at that moment.

Don’t piss me off. That’s all. [Not that Kyouko could really do against the other girl if she actually annoyed her, but the redhead was so used to threaten people she forgot all of her powers had been taken away…Violence was the Puella Magi’s way to keep people in line when it involved her or food. Carefully watching the blond girl eating the apple, making sure she would eat it all.]

How the heck am I supposed to know? I just found these in my trailer. [Kyouko shrugged, grabbing another apple and, without second thought, biting it.]

Not piss her off…? That could mean a lot of different things, it all depended on the person.

“Oh.” She’d assumed she’d gotten them from a tree, since she was sitting in one. “I was just wondering, that’s all.” She took another bite, making an appreciative noise.

But just how much could Kyouko eat? She was devouring those apples. She seemed to have an endless stomach!

“Nice to meet you, I’m Maka!” She grinned at the people around her.

She looked lonely for a moment. Maka had to urge to pull Menma close, to hug her and never let go. Her hand twitched, but otherwise she didn’t make a move.

Maka smiled, what a great spin Menma put on this… Menma could probably be a spokesperson for something horrible and convince people to do it. “I’m sure you will.” She spoke softly.

[Menma would find the hug comforting, especially since the two are friends now. At least, in Menma’s mind. As long as you don’t crush her, it’d be fine.]

Menma has already made one friend, right?

[Menma motions toward Maka with a smile.]

Menma will just have to work hard to make friends!

“You bet!”

She went to hi-five the girl. “I’ll cheer you on!”

Maka saw the look of panic on her face. “I’m sorry! I went overboard, didn’t I? I’m not normally like that.” She tried to laugh. “Just ignore me if I get like that!” She didn’t want to trouble anyone.

“With who?” She had someone to be happy with. That’s why she liked it. Maka decided to end her arguing. She knew that when love was involved, your argument didn’t matter. Love seemed to be all consuming.

“No, it’s okay! I think it happens to everyone, you know?” [ She smiled at Maka. Sometimes, things could even throw the calmest person off the edge. ] “And we all have a right to our emotions.”

[ When the next part came about, Sakuya hesitated. Their relationship was supposed to be a secret, but it had made Sakuya so happy. Flandre already knew (somehow! maybe because I’m her mun too—) and she didn’t mind, but she was naive. Remilia probably wouldn’t care either, so what was the point of being so secretive about it?

… There wasn’t one. Since people already knew. Remilia probably wouldn’t be here for a long long time. ]

“Meiling.”

Maka sighed, relieved. “Even if they are annoying!” She laughed, yup, emotions got in the way big time. She could always just blame puberty though!

“I remember Meiling! Well, a Meiling! She said something about mistresses… If it is, I’m glad you’re here!” Meiling had been lonely with her mistress, Maka couldn’t remember the woman’s name (if Meiling even gave her name!), but a friend, or something more, would help.

It made her feel better about the circus, even if it was just a little.

“Pick up line?” She tilted her head. “N-no, it’s not.” She giggled. This man was a bit ridiculous. The way he spoke… Maka felt like he was a caricature of a himself, everything was so exaggerated. “Nice to meet you.” She managed to squeak out, still giggling.

She managed to stop. “I’m Maka.”

I gotcha kid, I gotcha, still trynna test out th’waters, then. Yer still needin’ them floaties till you get ta fishin’ fer this level. [Badou then proceeded to preen like a peacock, emphasis on the cock dumbassary]

Gotta start small lil fishie, yer more like a….flounder, that gupp- NOT THAT ‘M CALLIN’ YA CHUNKY C-C-CAUSE YA AIN’T I JUS’ ‘m jus’ sayin’ you’ve got a ways ta go till yer a barracuda. Or a shark. Or an octopus, sans th’tentacle shit. [But he just continued to grin like a goofball, at least he’d gotten a giggle out of the kid]

‘m Badou. Right back atcha lil fishie.

Floaties? … Was he mocking her figure, or just being… Whatever he was being? Maka looked at him, confusion clear on her face.

“Oh.” She got it. She didn’t want to pick up this peculiar fellow, but she wouldn’t say out loud… Not that it would dent his confidence, she assumed. She watched him ‘preen’, trying very hard not to laugh at his ego.

“I know I’m not chunky.” She tried to calm him down.

“I… What?” She tilted her head, completely confused.

She laughed again. “I’m not sure I follow… At all.” She rubbed the back of her head in embarrassment. Though she was pretty sure most people wouldn’t be able to follow it, she still felt a little dumb.

“Great!” Maka disliked this place, but it made others happy… The fact that Menma was a cute little girl helped her accept that a little bit easier this time.

Good, good, she nodded. “Maybe being here before even helped, since people sort of know you, they wanted to help more…” Naturally, anyone who knew Menma would jump to help her.

Maybe… Menma is glad that people are willing to help her out here.

[Still, the little girl is glad that even though there are some mean people here, they were balanced out by all the kind people. Menma gives a soft smile to Maka.]

Menma doesn’t know what she did here before, though. And she feels a little bit bad that she can’t remember some friends that she made. But maybe she could make friends with more people this time!

She nodded, remembering some of the ruder members here. She hoped no one took their answer out on the girl, though.

“Erm, sure?” She didn’t really understand the question.

“What’s so bad for me right now?” She scoffed. “Sorry.” She instantly apologised, she didn’t want to start a fight. “I’m away from home, I have no powers, I’m useless either way, I’m alone, I’m trapped.” That should be enough, right? “Sure, maybe eventually I’ll feel better, eventually I’ll be not so lonely, eventually this will be home, that there’ll be some good to it… But I don’t want it all. I want what I know and love.” She sighed. “It’s just hard for me to accept this place. I should make the most of it but…”

She would have asked the girl why she liked it so much, but she didn’t want to hear the good reasons for this place. Not right now.

Well, that was quite the explosion right there! And now Sakuya just felt completely overwhelmed. Her social awkwardness really, really wasn’t helping either. She began to speak frantically, trying to calm herself, and Maka down.

“H-Hey! But everyone else is! We’re all like that! And I’m sure you’re lucky enough to have some of the people you love here. You’re not useless!

You see, I love it here because I can be with her…!”

Maka saw the look of panic on her face. “I’m sorry! I went overboard, didn’t I? I’m not normally like that.” She tried to laugh. “Just ignore me if I get like that!” She didn’t want to trouble anyone.
